Drug-induced liver injury (DILI), also called hepatotoxicity, implies the chemical-driven liver damage. Certain medicinal agents, when taken in overdoses and sometimes even when introduced within therapeutic ranges, may injure the organ. Chemicals that cause liver injury are called hepatotoxins.
